This book also looks to the future purposes and destiny of Jerusalem and the battles, captivities, and deliverances that are still yet to come.
Most importantly, this book looks forward in expectation that in the fullness of time, the Messiah will march with indignation, zeal, and fiery jealousy for His beloved mountain and will rescue Jerusalem from those who hate her, and as the greater David, He will take up His rightful throne.
For the Law will go forth from Zion, and the Word of the Lord from Jerusalem! (Isaiah 2:3).
