We have a wonderful Crew of volunteers who minister to Jesus by offering their lives in service at the HUB. We believe that service is an absolutely essential element of training for greater ministry. In 1 Corinthians 4:1, the word used for “minister” means “under-rower” referring to servants who sat below the decks of ships to pull the oars and row in time with one another at their captain’s commands. Moreover, in Ephesians 4:13, the word used for the Body of Christ attaining “fullness” is defined as “full, filled, or complete, like a ship fully manned with sailors.” Together, we are one Crew and our commander is Jesus.
Crew Members live nearby and serve at the HUB. Sojourners live and serve at the HUB full-time.
We expect Crew & Sojourner applicants to have spent some time volunteering at the HUB before submitting their application. All Crew & Sojourner applicants should be familiar with and committed to Manifest’s Approach and way of life at the HUB, including our Kingdom priorities of living totally by faith and being led by the Holy Spirit into the mission and vision that God has given us. This ensures that we know you and you know us before committing to a longer-term association. The following are required of Crew & Sojourner applicants:
Must have intimate and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Must be familiar with and willing to submit to the Manifest approach and HUB life.
Must be at least 18 years old, unless traveling with parent or team.
Must be teachable and ready to take on the most menial task for the good of the HUB.
Must be culturally adaptable to our multi-cultural environment.
Must be willing to work in alignment with Manifest’s approach while you serve at the HUB.
Must agree to submit to Manifest’s leadership and adhere to all guidelines and policies.
Must have a prayerful and submissive attitude towards the governing authorities of national, state, and local governments.
Must waive all liability and hold Manifest harmless for any injury or loss which may occur on the premises or with any of Manifest’s Crew.
Crew Member Applicants: Must have served at the HUB as a Volunteer for at least one year.
Sojourners Applicants Only: Must agree to stay in the housing and room assigned to you. We believe learning to live with and love one another in community is an essential part of developing Christlike character. Roommate change requests will not be granted lightly. If you must request a room change, please check with the Office. We also require that you be flexible if Hospitality needs to move you to a different room from time to time.
Health Crew & Sojourner applicants should be able-bodied and in good health due to the demands of physical labor which service at the HUB sometimes requires. Special exceptions to this rule must be disclosed and approved before your application is accepted. Failure to disclose known health issues may result in expulsion. A waiver of all liability for health and injury is required before your application is accepted.
Term – How Long? We seek to invest in the spiritual lives of our Crew Members and Sojourners for the glory of God by helping them fulfill His purposes in the varied stages of spiritual life and growth. We seek to keep communication open through regular reviews of their practical service and spiritual growth. We are committed to doing this for as long as the Holy Spirit guides and aligns us. Crew Service, once approved, is perpetual for as long as the Lord leads us to serve together. Sojourners will be given a set time-frame, typically six months to one year, and may renew as the Lord leads us to continue serving together.
